Caffè Putto: the roastery behind our coffee

The coffee you'll find in our shop comes from Caffè Putto, a historic roastery from Turin, in the Città Giardino district, active since 1953.

A family story

Three generations have led the company: today it's Maurizio Putto carrying it forward, after taking it over from his father Aldo in 1986. It was a path that came about almost by chance: Maurizio, having just finished his military service, was about to enrol in Electronic Engineering, before the family roastery brought him back to coffee beans.

Slow-cycle roasting

The method remains true to its origins: a slow roast, far from industrial standards, that respects the bean's natural timing. The result is a coffee that develops richer aromas and is easier to digest, exactly as it was seventy years ago.

Did you know...

A roastery inside a home

For 72 years and three generations, the Caffè Putto roastery has been located literally inside a private home in Città Giardino, a detail that's more unique than common in the landscape of Italian roasteries. And the company's name is no coincidence: "putto" is the art-history term for the winged child figures that populate Renaissance frescoes, the very same little angel you'll still find illustrated on the packaging today.

A recent recognition

In 2025, this "home" roastery was awarded a Special Award by Gambero Rosso, entering the list of the 15 best roasteries in Italy: proof that quality, made with patience and passion, still gets noticed even after seventy years.

Every cup you brew carries this story with it: three generations, one address, the same care as always.
