Corte Fornello: the winery behind our wines

The wines you'll find in our shop come from Corte Fornello, a family-run winery in Valeggio sul Mincio, nestled among the morainic hills just minutes from Lake Garda.

A family story

Michele Venturelli represents the fifth generation of the family, carrying forward the legacy of his father Ivano, who introduced him to the art of winemaking from a young age, with a clear focus on sustainability: from protecting biodiversity in the vineyard to using modern technology in the cellar.

Between the morainic hills and Lake Garda

The land matters. The vines grow on the gravelly soils of the morainic hills, where Lake Garda creates a stable microclimate that makes all the difference. It's no coincidence that Bardolino, produced right here on this land, was the first red wine in Veneto to obtain DOCG status, back in 2001.

Did you know...

A village worth discovering

Just a short distance from the winery lies Borghetto sul Mincio, a hamlet of Valeggio included among Italy's Most Beautiful Villages: a small medieval village of watermills and bridges, crossed by the Mincio river. It's also the birthplace of Valeggio's tortellini, known as the "Love Knot": legend tells of Malco and Silvia, two lovers who, before throwing themselves into the river over an impossible love, tied a golden silk handkerchief, a gesture the local women later transformed into the shape of the tortellino itself.

Come visit us at the winery

Corte Fornello is more than just a name on a shelf: those who visit in person can explore the vineyards, taste the wines directly with the Venturelli family, and breathe in the authentic atmosphere that lives in every bottle.

Every time you open a Bardolino, a Custoza or the Il David, you're tasting a piece of these hills, and of this story.
